Opportunity for IPM Byadgi Chilli:

The Hubli area is known for growing Byadgi chilli in a traditional organic way. This chilli always gets premium pricing due to lower yield but of higher quality. But this year due to over flooding from irrigated areas, this chilli was trading at very low prices, this has made farmers move their produce to cold storages.

So if any Spices company is looking for IPM chillies they should use this opportunity for its Europe and USA markets. We are learning and working for creating a transparent supply chain for win-win solution to both farmers and buyers, you can connect us at BasuHampali@gmail.com

www.SpiceExtra.in – History and Way ahead!

History:

Shri. Nagappa ji Hampali founded “Hampali Traders” in 1968, a trading firm dedicated to Dry Chilli in Hubli, Karnataka. After starting on a humble note, he began scaling the business and is now respected and looked up to in this Industry and is known for his hard work, honesty, and dedication.

By late 2017, when businesses were digitally transforming, we noticed that no digital information related to dry chillies, arrivals, crop areas, and assaying were available. This troubling factor led us to work towards digitising this area from scratch.

Associating and partnering in R&D with renowned personalities from Agronomy,Software Engineering, Weather Experts, Government Agencies, Media Houses, and others paved the way for incubating the “SpiceExtra” platform in 2022.

Way Ahead:

SpiceExtra has built a trust with Indian Dry Chilli Industry, it has shown the possibility of community approach for the prosperity of the ecosystem. We will use this trust and work towards building a collaboration model between Farmer’s, Spice and Oleoresin companies, Scientist, Seed / Fertilizer companies, Govt agencies and Startups to take Indian Dry Chillies to even greater heights on the global stage.
